Punish elderly man that beat up harmless cat with stick in broad daylight!

Murcia, Spain: Several passers-by witnessed how a man jumped to attack a black cat that was peacefully roaming the neighborhood. The elderly man held a huge stick in his hand and did not hesitate to pound the defenseless moggy with it; concerned citizens were too afraid to intervene because the man was in a fit of rage and could have retaliated at any given point. They took a few photos as evidence and called the Civil Guard.

The incident occurred in the town of San Pedro del Pinatar, near Murcia, Spain.

Local authorities arrived promptly and detained the suspect; however, they couldn’t do anything to rescue the cat, she was no longer alive. During interviews with the police the 77-year-old man, whose name has not been disclosed to the public, stated that he despised the animal because it was black and believed it brought bad luck; he added that he would see the cat every day and each time that happened, he was left with a huge headache. He also added that the cat would routinely attack pigeons in his yard and thus leave a mess behind. Fed up with having to deal with the cat so many times, the man decided to take matters into his own hands and teach the moggy a lesson it would never forget.

This cat deserves justice, no matter how you put things into perspective, he had no right to do what he did! We ask the justice system of Murcia to follow proper course of action and impose the strictest penalty available against this ruthless individual.
