The video of a man leaving his dog chained to a tree for hours and
hitting him several times has emerged online. Please support my petition so
this heartless man can be brought to justice! We need to act fast and make the
authorities listen to us!
This shocking incident unfolded in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. A
callous owner took it upon himself to tie one of his pet dogs to a treet and
leave him like this for hours. The dog, who barely had room to breathe, because
his chain was wrapped tighly around his neck, would bark from time to
time, which deeply annoyed the owner. At
one point, the man in the photos is seen grabbing a leash and approaching the
dog, before hitting the defenceless animal a couple of times.
The video revealed another troubling aspect: there were other dogs
on the property. They were not chained, but rather roaming freely in the
backyard. By all means, this man should not be keeping any pets in his home. It
was later revealed that some of the dogs belonged to a family member and he was
only watching them. It also turns out that the owner is over the limit of
allowed dogs, according to Florida state laws.
Concerned neighbors called Animal Control, who paid the cruel owner
a visit. The man agreed to unleash the dog and take him inside, after more than
six hours of having kept the pooch on a very tight leash. The man did admit
that he ‘corrected’ one of the dogs for biting another one.
Unfortunately, Animal Control officers were unable to remove any of
the dogs from the property, because they say no visible abuse had been
detected.
Please take action to have this callous owner brought to justice.
This man is clearly unstable and unfit to own pets – we must ensure that animal
cruelty charges are filed and all dogs are removed from the premises. His
promises to behave better will simply not do it, after seeing the video!
Authorities must act without hesitation and protect those dogs in distress.
