On Friday, 10-1-16, three judges overturned a first degree child abuse charge of a mother who had already pled guilty to the crime. She admitted to doing meth as soon as 5 days prior to delivering her son. She not only used meth, marajuana, and amphetamines throughout her pregnancy she tore out her own IV's and abandon him at the hospital so she could again get high. The baby weighed 3#11oz full term. The next 3 weeks were spent in NICU fighting for his life.
According to Michigan law a fetus is not a child!!! A mother can do and feed that fetus whatever she chooses until it is born...crime free. Please help me change this law by signing.
